With natural beauty and a rich cultural heritage, Bulembu is located in the Highveld of North-West Swaziland. Bulembu - originally a mining town for the Havelock Mine from 1938 and 2001 – was a thriving community of 10,000 people. The community’s infrastructure included a broad range of housing, several schools, a hospital, stores, gas stations, social entertainment and recreational clubs – services that offered a high quality of life for the community’s citizens.
Bulembu can support economic growth and community development throughits existing infrastructure already in place.
Swaziland offers stunning mountain ranges, valleys dotted with mud huts and lush sugarcane fields for its people who enjoy peace. However, despite political rest, AIDS/HIV has devastated the country and it has endured a prolonged economic decline. Two-thirds of citizens still live on less than a dollar a day. Nearly 25% of the population require food aid and the unemployment rate is a staggering 30%.
