Bulembu's first macro-enterprise, Bulembu Timber was launched in the spring of 2006. With over 200 community members employed, Bulembu Timber is the town's largest community enterprise.

Bulembu Timber's Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) certification increases market access and ensures Bulembu's commitment to environmental stewardship standards, which include minimizing the environmental impact of logging activities, as well as developing the socio-economic situation of forest workers and local communities.

Bulembu Timber processes an average of 2000 tons of euceliptus and pine to produce ver 1000 cubes of product per month. All waste timber is either chipped and sold as biofuel or burnt as charcoal.
