Bulembu Country Lodge once housed senior mine staff and now has 12 enchanting and comfortable en-suite bedrooms in the converted mine manager’s homes and quaint directors’ cottages. Separate village houses can be hired on self-catering or full board basis. Lunch and dinners are wholesome country food served from a set menu which changes daily.

Tour Bulembu
Be sure to take a tour and discover all that the Bulembu story has to offer. Take a step back into the past and visit some of the attractions dating back to the 1930’s. Explore the 285 seat cinema which has been left to its original state or journey into old scientific testing facilities. The historic Bulembu cableway is now the longest cableway in the world, outside of Europe. It extends more than 21 km into South Africa. Visit the town hospital with equipment dating back to the 1930’s, the old jail and tiny courthouse next to the town’s police station and old corrugated iron-clad buildings.


Hiking
For the more energetic days can be spent hiking Swaziland’s highest
mountain, Emlembe (1863m), exploring the
1,700 hectare property and surrounding countryside on foot or by
mountain bike (bring your own), cooling off in waterfalls and rock pools or
bird – watching. Spot the Gurney’s Sugarbird, Narina Trogon and Knysna Turaco
to name a few. The area has an
extensive network of trails for the hiker with easy to moderate experience.
Many paths weave through beautiful grasslands which are interspersed with rocky
outcrops. Relaxing hikes are popular as they roll past flowing streams,
waterfalls and small ponds.
