Inflation is an unseen enemy that has taken a toll on our efforts to provide the best possible care, nutrition, education, and healthcare to orphaned and vulnerable children in Eswatini. Skyrocketing prices are putting an immense strain on our already limited resources.
For example,
- With (SZL)E100, we used to be able to buy nine loaves of bread, and now the identical E100 only purchases seven loaves.
- (SZL)E1,300 was enough to buy electricity for one children’s home to ensure they have lights and hot water for a month. Now it costs us almost E1,600.
- We used to be able to do all the cooking with E10,000 worth of LP Gas, but now it costs us E14,970 per month.
These are just a few examples of how inflation has impacted our ability to offer the necessities and level of care our children need to thrive.
We find ourselves at a crossroads where the needs of these vulnerable children outweigh the resources at our disposal.
The reality is that we need your support now more than ever. We have made all the budget cuts we can without sacrificing the well-being of our children… but we are still coming up short.
We invite you to be part of the solution by making a one-time or monthly donation to help us care for these wonderful children.
